travel from afar

Fernandina Beach is the town on Amelia Island. The Island is only two miles wide and 14 miles long. We are the first island in Florida coming from Georgia and the last coming from the south. Fernandina is a quaint little southern gem with lots of history, lots of charm, and an Iyengar Yoga school.

HOTELS

Some hotels or Bed and Breakfasts on Amelia Island offer special rates for our visiting students. There are many options for staying on the island, but here are a few recommendations.

If you stay at the Blue Heron Inn, call first at 904-445-9034. Mention Community Yoga + Wellness and you will get a discount.

If you stay at the Hampton Inn, ask for a AAA discount 10% ($165 per double for August). If you mention Community Yoga it might make the process a little smoother. Located just a block away from Main Beach on Atlantic Avenue, and only a short distance from Fort Clinch State Park.

Airbnb

There are many guest rooms and condos listed on the Airbnb site to consider. I would suggest this route if you are travelling as a group or would like to rent a room or something a little more private than a hotel for your stay.

FOOD

For omnivores there is no shortage of wonderful food options, including Lulu's at the Thompson House, Cafe Karibo, and The Patio Place. Many local restaurants also have vegetarian options. The local resource for most vegetarian and vegan options can be found by clicking here. In addition to the list, add Tasty's Burgers and Fries at the corner of 8th and Center Street for a great veggie burger and Arte Pizza at the corner of Broome and 3rd Street for great pasta dishes, pizzas and salads.
